Rifleman
A rifleman is the backbone of all squad level deployments. A rifleman is capable of sustained firefights throughout the day and is equipped as such. They are frequently assigned to support gunners, snipers, and team leaders with a focus on tactical awareness, spotting, and security. Riflemen are often tasked with being point man, spotter, and rear security.

A recommended load out for a Rifleman:
-M16 or M4 variant rifle
-Two to four hicap magazines
-Extra ammunition for in-field reloads
-Binoculars or spotting scope
-Communication Radio
Grenadier
A grenadier is probably the most rare squad role in airsoft. They are a rifleman that carries an M203 launcher, CAW grenade launcher, hand held grenades, or in-direct fire rocket launchers/mortars. These weapons can usually be loaded for anti-personal and anti-vehicular use.
A recommended load out for a Grenadier:
-M16 or M4 variant rifle
-M203 launcher with one or two shells
-Several hand held grenades (water tubes or baking soda grenades)
-Anti-Vehicular rocket or grenade
-Extra reloads for the M203
-Enough ammunition for a sustained firefight
-Communication Radio
Support GunnerThe support gunner is an important role within any team. By utilizing a gun with a lot of ammunition, they provide covering fire for teammates. A support gunner is encouraged to focus their attention on suppressing their enemies and relies on their rifleman to assist in security. Shooting Range and large amounts of ammunition is the staple of any support gunner. A buddy team consisting of a Support Gunner and his Rifleman are often put on point during squad movements.

A recommanded load out for a Supper Gunner:
-M16, M4, or M249 variant rifle
-One or two 3,000-5,000 round box/drum magazines along with one or two hicaps
-3,000-,5000 extra rounds carried for in-field reload
-Extra battery for in field battery swap
-Communication Radio
Sniper
A sniper is a team member who uses a long-range sniper rifle and camouflage. Snipers often carry a sidearm and wear additional camouflage such as a guillie suit. Their guns are set to above 400 fps and are used to accurately pick off targets at long range. A sniper is always paired with a rifleman to assist in spotting, target identification, and security.
A recommanded load out for a Sniper:
-Sniper class weapon capable of accurate shooting between 400 and 550 fps
-Sidearm for close range shooting
-Rifle scope
-Additional camouflage (cloak or guillie suit)
-Extra ammunition
-Communication Radio
Medic
A medic is one of the most valuable positions within a team. They are trained to quickly and efficiently get wounded/hit players back into the game. Although the method of doing this can vary from field to field ( armbands, envelopes with cards in it, a deck of cards, a touch rule, etc), the ability to quickly learn to use this effectively is required. A medic usually works in tandem with riflemen who drag casualties to him instead of the medic moving up to the front of the firefight and being at risk of getting shot. Medics usually carry light, small, easy to sling weapons that will allow them to put their weapon away while tending to fallen players.
A recommanded load out for a Medic:
-Light, Small, or easily slung weapons so the medic does not have to put their weapon down
-Bag or container to carry any of the required items needed to "heal" players
-Extra ammunition to stay in the fight
-Communication Radio
Team LeaderThe team leader is a specialized role within the squad. They are in charge of coordinating and leading their fire team. Under the guidance of a team leader, a fire team should be able to work efficiently and quickly to achieve its goals.
A recommended load out for a Team Leader:

Any equipment a Rifleman, Support Gunner, or Grenadier might carry
-M16 or M4 variant rifle
-Extra ammunition
-Binoculars or spotting scope
-Tactical map
-Compass
-Notebook for mission notes and information
-Communication Radio set to command
-Communication Radio set to squad
Force Deployment
Although some players may disagree, force deployment is an important part of airsoft. Teams work together and coordinate to achieve bigger goals. Reliable team members can be counted on when things get hectic and it is important to understand your role within the bigger picture. Although Wolf Recon is based on a rifle squad, the most fundamental building block of force deployment is the buddy team. If players cannot stay together as a simple two man buddy team, then there is no way an eight man rifle squad will ever perform efficiently.
Buddy Team
“Two is one, and one is none” - GI Jane
This saying is true in aspects of airsoft combat. A buddy team is made up of two soldiers, usually an NCO and a Rifleman, which are always together on the battlefield. The NCO provides the thinking and decision-making part of the team and rifleman provides the security and combative part of the team. An NCO trusts his rifleman to help him by being a gun pointing out that is tactically aware and a rifleman trusts his NCO to lead him to where he needs to be. Buddy teams always work in tandem and should never be separated on the field. If one buddy team member is prone, the other should be prone. If one is moving, the other should be moving. If one is engaging, the other should be engaging.
Fire Team
A fire team is composed of two buddy teams. A fire team is the standard force deployment on the field and should be practiced quite often. A Sergeant leads a fire team and the two buddy teams work together in this force. An example of what a fire team would be tasked with doing is providing covering fire on an enemy, flanking around, or providing security at a rally point.
Squads
A squad is made up of two fire teams. Although fire teams work together, they are usually far enough apart to complete different tasks but always work towards the same goal. An example of what a squad would be tasked with doing is taking an objective by sending one fire team to flank while another suppresses the objective.
